Open Call- Regional Coordinator for Mapping ASEAN Youth Contributions to Global Biodiversity Goals with a particular focus on the Kunming- Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

I. Background

The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) is dedicated to fostering youth engagement and participation in biodiversity initiatives. Since 2022, HSF has been collaborating with the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) and the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN) to establish synergies aimed at contributing to the achievement of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) targets.

While there have been some initial projects and instances of youth participation since its adoption during COP15 in 2022, a comprehensive mapping of youth engagement programs and contributions to biodiversity, particularly concerning the Global Biodiversity Goals, is currently lacking.

To bridge this gap, HSF, alongside ACB and GYBN, will undertake a mapping exercise to document youth contributions to the Global Biodiversity Goals, with a specific emphasis on the KM-GBF.

To address this issue, HSF looking an expert for Regional Coordinator for mapping process, with a particular focus on the KMGBF. This mapping will focus on youth participation in the ASEAN countries. The Regional Coordinator will supervise 10 ASEAN consultants - one consultant from each ASEAN member state – during the entire mapping process.

II. Expected scope of Work

The Regional Coordinator is expected to fullfill the following tasks:

  1. Conceptualization of Mapping Process;
  2. Lead the mapping process;
  3. Content Analysis and Synthesis of national data;
  4. Reporting.
